Terms of Use

Last updated · 2026-10-27 · Effective · 2026-10-27

These Terms of Use (the "Terms") form a binding agreement between you and the developer of Ayahline ("Ayahline," "we," "us"). By downloading, installing, or using the Ayahline iPhone application (the "App") you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

If you obtained the App from Apple's App Store, the Apple-imposed terms in §15 also apply.

1. The App

Ayahline is a native iPhone application for reading the Quran one ayah at a time, in a vertical feed. It shows the Arabic text with an English translation, plays recitations with each word highlighted as it is recited, and offers word‑by‑word meanings, classical tafsir, short reflections, reading progress toward a khatm, a daily goal and streak, saved ayahs, optional local notifications, and home‑screen and lock‑screen widgets.

2. License grant

We grant you a personal, limited, non‑exclusive, non‑transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on Apple‑branded products that you own or control, in accordance with the Apple Media Services Terms (the "Apple EULA") and these Terms. This license does not permit you to:

3. Content

The Quran text, the English translation of its meanings, the word‑by‑word meanings, the recitations and the tafsir come from the sources named in the App under Settings → Sources & licences, and are shown as those sources publish them. A translation conveys meanings; it is not the Quran itself. Reflections are short notes written for Ayahline, each citing its source.

4. Account & identity

The App does not require a Ayahline account. There is no sign‑up, no login, and no profile. All preferences and progress are stored locally on your iPhone. We do not maintain accounts on a server.

5. Ayahline Premium — subscriptions and lifetime purchase

The Quran in Ayahline is free: the full text, the translation, and recitation by the default reciter will always be available without payment. Ayahline Premium is the App's optional paid tier, offered through three Apple‑managed in‑app purchases:

ProductTypePriceRenewal
Yearly (iqra_pro_yearly)Auto‑renewable subscription, may include a free trial for new subscribersShown in the App before purchaseRenews every year until cancelled.
Monthly (iqra_pro_monthly)Auto‑renewable subscriptionShown in the App before purchaseRenews every month until cancelled.
Lifetime (iqra_pro_lifetime)Non‑consumable in‑app purchaseShown in the App before purchaseOne‑time payment. No renewal.

Prices are set through the App Store and may vary by territory and currency. The price shown to you at the moment of purchase is the price you pay.

5.0 Free trial

Where a free trial is offered, its length is shown in the App before you start it. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription begins and your Apple ID is charged. If you allow notifications, the App reminds you two days before the trial ends.

5.1 Billing & auto‑renewal (subscriptions)

5.2 Lifetime purchase

The Lifetime product is a one‑time non‑consumable in‑app purchase. Once purchased it grants Premium features for as long as the App exists and runs on Apple‑supported iPhones. We cannot guarantee the App will exist or remain compatible indefinitely; see §11.

5.3 Refunds

Apple processes all payments and all refund requests. We have no ability to issue refunds. Refund requests can be made at support.apple.com/refunds. Apple's decision is final unless the law of your jurisdiction grants you a non‑waivable refund right.

5.4 What Premium unlocks

Ayahline Premium currently unlocks:

We may add, change, or remove Premium benefits over time. If we materially reduce Premium benefits, we will communicate the change inside the App and via the "Last updated" date on these Terms before it takes effect.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

7. Intellectual property

The App, including its design, code, original writing, illustrations, and the selection and arrangement of card content, is owned by the Ayahline developer and protected by copyright and other intellectual‑property laws. Third‑party names, books, and works mentioned in cards belong to their respective owners and are referenced under principles of fair use / fair dealing for educational commentary.

8. Notifications

If you enable notifications, the App schedules local notifications on your iPhone (see Privacy Policy §5). You can revoke this permission at any time in iOS Settings; the App continues to work, with the recall quiz presented in‑app instead.

9. Third‑party services

The App uses two third‑party services as described in the Privacy Policy §3: Apple Inc. (App Store, StoreKit, OS services) and RevenueCat, Inc. (subscription receipt validation). Their terms also apply to the parts of the experience they provide.

10. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

11. Changes to the App and to these Terms

We may update, change, or discontinue any part of the App at any time, with or without notice. We may also update these Terms. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date. If the change is material, we will surface a notice inside the App. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the new Terms.

12. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time and delete it from your iPhone. We may suspend or terminate your access to features (including paid Premium features) if you materially breach these Terms or use the App in a way that disrupts other users or our infrastructure. Apple‑processed refunds remain governed by Apple's policies.

13. Warranty disclaimer

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including without limitation warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, reliability, non‑infringement, or that defects will be corrected. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error‑free, or free from harmful components.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will the Ayahline developer be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the App, whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), product liability, or any other legal theory, and whether or not we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. To the extent any liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our total liability arising out of or related to the App is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) USD $20.

This section applies if you obtained the App through Apple's App Store. The following provisions are required by Apple and reflect their Licensed Application End User License Agreement:
